About Us
Au Pairs & Beyond are a South African based platform creating the perfect space to connect wonderful Families with Care Givers (Au Pairs, Facilitators, Tutors, Scribes, Readers and Babysitters).
We recognise the wondrous gift of a child, and that it carries a huge responsibility to provide a safe, loving, stimulating and caring environment for their most beneficial development.
Every child is unique and has their own quality and little personality, which grows and develops each day.
At Au Pairs & Beyond we focus on these developments and give you the space to find a match with other individuals who have a deep awareness and understanding of children, and how crucial these fundamental building blocks are.
In doing so, we help the process of uplifting your child to grow into the best big person they possibly can be.
Meet the Founders
Ashleigh van Vugt
Having come from a large, close family I have learnt the importance of strong values and unconditional love, happiness and laughter. I have had the opportunity to work with children for over the last 10 years both Au Pairing and facilitating with and without special needs.
Seeing the growth and development of each child and helping them unlock their unique potential is my most rewarding aspect of working with children.
I completed my Honours Degree in Psychology and furthered my education with a play therapy course, where I volunteered as a play therapist with Kids Voices.
I have Au Paired both locally and internationally and have seen first-hand that you don’t just become another employee, you become part of the family.
The joy and experience this brought me, has driven me in the career path of wanting to assist children and families as well as Au Pairs, Facilitators and all other Care Givers in finding their perfect match.
Cayla-Michelle van Vugt
I have travelled, explored and worked with people of all ages all over the world. This has taught me the unique characters each individual holds.
Through my years and love for Au Pairing as well as working at Summer Camps in America, I learnt the importance of understanding each and every child’s unique qualities and their needs.
Coming from the same large, close and loving Family as Ashleigh – we both hold the same values of honesty, loyalty, commitment and know the importance of unconditional love and how when you become an Au Pair you become part of a Family.
